Haul Haul Haul! and NOTD and TNOTD?

Haha, so I have today off, which is bad because my mom is away and my dad bikes to work so I have the car to myself and no one actually kinda knows that I had the day off....so I was being bad.  I went shopping.

Sally emailed me a coupon yesterday for a free eyeshadow if I spend $10 before tax...well, sure I'll do that.  This is just after they emailed me a notice saying if I spend $7.25 more this month I get 15% off next month...so, well, I had to do that obviously.  Next month I am going to buy myself some hair scissors and a razor so I have those when I move away.

So I bought some Duo eyelash glue and some eyelashes to practice with so I can be 100% good at applying them by the time my wedding rolls around.
Just some basic lashes...nothing special. I also still have some individual lashes somewhere but I needed glue.

And I picked the Aruba Blue colour from the eyeshadow for free!
It's pretty sheer, but I think it would be buildable really easily, and since my eyes are still giving me waterworks, I don't really care either way at the moment, it's pretty so yeah.

NOTD and New Hair

Bright blue nails, from the Wet'n'wild quick drying nail polish line...I love it.

I forget the colour, it's somewhere listed in on of my purchasing posts...haha.

And I fixed my multicoloured hair somewhat. I had some leftover medium golden brown from Sally's Ion demi-permanent line that I had used on my mother a while ago, but it came out darker than she wanted so she didn't like it.  So I supplemented that with L'oreal Healthy Color in Light Brown and I stared with just the Sally on the roots and then mixed a bit of the L'oreal in to do the upper mid length and then a bit more to slather on the most of the rest of it...left the ends until just the very last thing because they are so fried and soak up any colour to black really fast.  Turned out pretty even, dark, but still definitely brown, and I love it.
Here's an awful pic I snapped in my bathroom haha..
Ignore my face and lack of makeup...I'm heading to bed.

I also bought a lot of gloves. Like vinyl gloves for dying hair. I had an adventure the other week when I did my mom's hair and didn't have any gloves. I used some moisturizer with silicones in it and slathered that on my hands but some of the dye still got through and stained my hands a bit.  So I thought I'd invest in some gloves for hair dying adventures.  They were on sale, buy one box at full price, get a second for 1c.  So I did.  Now I have 198 gloves left after using 2 for today's dying.  Haha.

I'm glad though because the L'oreal gloves that came with the Healthy Colour are a load of crap. It's like someone cut out non-sticky saran wrap and then heatglued them together in a glove shape.  I'd rather just stain my fingers they're so annoying. But with my happy vinyl gloves I don't have to. :)

I want this dress...

I have gone shopping loads lately with my mum.  It seems like any time I have the morning off (ie: every Thursday) and if I get an unexpected day off (if no one is booked at work), then we go out shopping.  She has been buying loads of clothing for herself and her rationale is that my dad plans to retire soon so when he no longer has an income she can't buy as much stuff.  lol.  Anyways, we went to Reitman's and I found this dress on the back rack.
Supercute. Supercomfy. Want.

Unfortunately, I then found out why it was on the back rack....
I asked my mum, who sews, if it was a fixable rip and she said no...
:(

So then we went to 3 other Reitman's trying to find this dress elsewhere...no luck.  I expect it was somehting like someone had bought it not noticing the rip and then returned it or something and they had just stuck it on the back rack quickly.  I wish I never found it because I want it so much but it's ripped.

Eyeball Rant Again

So I stopped the antibiotics after 10 days and I guess I spoke too soon last time because my eyes are as watery as ever now again.  I don't think it was an infection.  They are only watery.  The eyelids are kinda red but only like after I have washed my face and scrubbed off my eye makeup etc. The tears are tears, they aren't gross or goopy or anything...just plain ol' clear tears.  I need to make another appointment because this is seriously bothering me.  I wouldn't mind as much if the tears didn't wash away my makeup like an hour after I put it on...actually, no, they bother me a lot. It wells up in my eye and I blink and it doesn't go away and it blurs my vision cuz its like looking through a glass of water or something, and it makes driving kinda a difficult experience and thus not safe.

That and I look like I hate my life all the time and am always just so emotional. Lol.

The makeup thing actually pisses me off and makes me depressed because I love my makeup and I think I am damn good at it (on myself anyway) and thus it just sucks to have that wash away right away and look like crap and smudge.

Argh. I pray this gets better soon..otherwise I am just gonna go from Dr. to Dr. and be like ``fix meeeee!!!``

Unintentionally....

What is this big garbage bag in my room?

I bet you will never guess...haha.

Two Month Waiting List....

Is apparently what there is at Sephora in my city for buying the Urban Decay Naked palette.  It's so friggin popular man.  I was gonna go get one there tomorrow, but my friend went and let me know how long the waitlist is and then informed me of this wonderful little tidbit of knowledge: The Shoppers Drug Mart near one of the malls has them in stock in store.  Yay!

They had like 5 in stock...I dunno how more people don't know of this..haha. I felt so sneaky getting it.  First of all a Shoppers that carries Urban Decay! Most of the ones near me have Benefit, Smashbox, Lancome, Stila, and Clinique and some other high end stuff in their Beauty Boutique section, but I haven't seen one with an Urban Decay til today.  So yay for both Naked palette with no wait, and also Shoppers Optimum points! Boo Yeah!

I will be patient and wait til tomorrow to try it though as I just washed all my brushes.  I finished my eye drops last night and since starting them my eyes have only watered when I am yawning lots, or sneezing lots, or if like sweat gets in them (which happens a lot more than one would expect apparently...lol).  No random out of the blue watering so yay. Healed! I can wear makeup again!

I already threw out most of the stuff I know I had used when I was infected...and I am keeping one or two that I used maybe once and not actually on the watery parts or near the watery parts of my eyes (crease use only) just because it's a shame to throw out a barely used Urban Decay Graffiti.  But, I am uber excited to start building up my collection again. Yay.

A week of no mascara

Yup, you read that right.  I have almost gone an entire 7 days with no mascara, no eyeliner, no eyeshadow, nothing on my eyes at all.  No contact lenses either, which sucks because it is mega sunny lately and I have no Rx sunglasses so I am either blurry eyed but shaded, or squinty eyed and can see proper.

So, since February I have been having really watery weird eyes.  I would wake up with them all gummed up and crusted, gross.  Yet they weren't itchy, they weren't red unless I would rub them, and they weren't like abnormal coloured tears at all.  The only thing that I felt was weird was that the tears seemed oilier than normal and thus would stay near my eyes and just muck around and remove my makeup (even with UDPP because they seemed oily).  Dr said it was an infection (without looking at me closer than 4 feet away...ugh), and gave me some drops.  They didn't work.  Gave me some new drops and told me to not wear any makeup at all for a while.  I cheated, I still wear foundation and bronzer but nowhere near my eyes.

So yeah...it seems to be working so far.  I haven't have to wipe away tears as often at all, and my eyes are normally pretty teary to begin with (I look like I am crying after I laugh, sneeze, supress a laugh, on a windy day, yawning etc) so I am not looking to go from watery mess to dry as a desert...I understand some tearing is normal for me.

I will be doing these drops until Wednesday and then keep makeupless until Friday to see if it's actually worked (and its not some weirdo thing the drops were doing) and also because Friday is payday and then I can go and buy makeup.  Since...yeah...I am going to throw out all my eye products which I am at least 10% sure I used while having my watery eyes.  Which is pretty much all of the stuff I really like and use on a regular basis.

However, this lets me get to start fresh! And I can buy products which I know I loved again, as well as then not feel guilty for buying more eyeshadows if I already had some at home.  I shall probably get one of the coastalscents/equivalent palettes to replenish my colour selections and then get some nice high quality neutrals as well.  Yay! Sad days for my wallet probably.

First trip will be to sephora to pick up some UDPP and perhaps an eyeshadow and an eyeliner.

OOTD and Look What I Made!

First off, my choppy OOTD which is taken on my lovely crackberry with awful lighting haha.
The black slouchy cardi I got at walmart last year for like $9, I think I posted about it a long time ago haha, the tube top/tunic thing I got from Dynamite for $8 ish, was 10, but there was 30% off. It has lovely pockets in it like those adorable dresses they make, but those never fit my boobies so this top will have to do. Necklace is an ebay purchase for less than $2.
I wore this with my Reitman's comfort top jeans which are from last year in a dark-medium wash and some shoes which I wore to my sister's wedding and are actually really comfy.  They have a 2in heel wedge and are easy to walk in.

Haha awkward pants shot.

I went out to a social desserty thing tonight.  The email said "June 5 pm meeting" because the group meets in the evening, but apparently everyone thought it was June, 5pm meeting so I got there later than most people haha.  (I actually confirmed the time to be 6:30pm so hah)

Now, Lookie here, I made myself a laptop cover!
Looking all strange with nothing in it.

Full of lappy goodness.

Widescreen laptops are kinda awkward to make them for because its all long and narrow haha.  I just used bits of green yarn leftover from an afghan I made as a wedding gift for some friends of mine.  Strung 4 strands together and used a size 8mm hook, crocheted half doubles all around and as the bits ran out of yarn added different yarn so it's variegated and awesome.  I like the darker stripe in it.  When there's no laptop in it its kinda lopsided a bit because the first bit of yarn was thicker than the end so it ended up bigger at the one side.  Oh well, fits the laptop and thats what I need it to do.  I am going to Toronto on Wednesday (leaving Tues, staying at my Grandma's) to do my practical licensing exam to become a registered massage therapist and then heading off to visit with the fiance.  So laptop in a bag all unprotected on the bus is not a good idea in my head.  Thus laptopcase.

I have a review of the Olay ProX brushy thing coming up soon, just wanna use it a bit more before I give my 2 cents on it.  So, something to look forward to.

Off to do some more Coke (a-cola) hehe! Bye!

Review: Sigma Round Top Kabuki Brush

Taken from Sigma's Website

OMG. I Love this brush.  Love is such a weak word for it actually. I have tried applying liquid foundation in several different ways, and while I found that each foundation usually has the best way to apply it, everyone else seemed to have awesome possum time using a duo-fibre brush and that made them all flawless and glowy. Well not so for me.  I have tried duo-fibre stippling brushes and either I did it completely wrong or it's just wrong for me because it didn't look good at all.  Or it would look okay for 5 mins and then suddenly get cakey (a habit I have with foundation in general though).  I have tried regular foundation brushes, fingers, sponges, damp sponges, stippling, buffing, other kabukis, etc.  None worked as well as this Sigma brush.  The closest was a damp sponge but that only worked with my Revlon Colorstay.

This brush, using it to just buff on my liquid foundation is like I am just brushing away impefections with a magic brush and I don't even have foundation on.

The bristles are super soft and unbelievably dense.  The handle is a good size, not awkwardly long, and not short like traditional kabukis.  It looks all sleek and sophisticated. It is totally my favourite brush in my collection. I think I may order the angled top for using with blush/bronzer.  Or even splurge and order the set and either have a backup round top or give it a friend as a gift.  I love this brush so much.

I haven't washed it yet, but I imagine it is going to be a bit difficult because the fibres are so dense.

I hope sigma uses these bristles for other brushes.  I can see an eyeshadow brush being really awesome with such soft dense synthetic bristles.

Seriously, go buy this brush. It is so awesome, and only $16 bucks.

GO NOW! lol..jk.
Bye!

FOTD

I Haven't done one of these in a while, but I have finally figured out how to upload photos to photobucket directly from my phone (my point and shoot camera is on the fritz...my ex friend dropped it a while ago and it's never been the same...)so here is some crappy phone quality pics!

Used:
Moisture Renew SPF 15 from Garnier
Studio Secrets Primer from L'oreal
Revlon Colorstay in Buff
A mix of ELF HD powder and
Physician's Formula Mineralwear in Light/Translucent
Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Light
MAC Blacktrack Fluidline
Maybelline The Colossal Mascara in Very Black
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Vintage Pink

I'm going dress shopping today, and I just got back from a horrible Dr's visit where she didn't listen to me...so I had some retail therapy and bought a new shirt (not pictured) for $7 bucks.  Haha.

Peace.

Mini-Haul

I finally paid off all my credit card debt and now I just owe my parents money for them paying some tuition for college, so I finally have some spending money that is guilt free.  I have a steady income and most of it is saving right now so I have been spending it as well for stuff I need/want.  Here are some purchases!

I have gone on a bit of a nail polish rampage...I wasn't allowed to wear it during clinic or outreaches for school so I could only wear it weekends really and now that I am done school and a) my nails have grown a lot since I Haven't been massaging lately and b) I no longer have to be polish free when I work...I have bought and worn a lot more colours.  However, I am mega impatient and can't be arsed to wait around while polish dries.  I find it takes enough time to even paint your nails in a proper manner that when they have been painted I immediately get bored and want to do stuff, thus usually ruining my polish.  So, I love quick dry polish.  I love the new line from Wet'nWild the "fastdry" line.  They last alright, sure they chip, but no more than any other polish I have and less than some of the crappier brands so yay. And for less than $3 each that's pretty good. I have 4 colours from them:
"gray's anatomy"
This one is a duochrome or whatever, looks greyish in some lights and purplish or pinkish in others and somestimes even green, photos are crap quality from my phone.

(I ripped of the label so no name lol)
This one was the initial purchase because it's soooo bright blue and I fell in love.
"teal of fortune"
Can't see this one too great but it's a lovely teal shade, very mermaidy, however it stains your nails.
"sage in the city"
This is sorta the green I want my wedding colour to be, yay.

Here are a couple not from that line:
I love this one too, called "grey matter" as you can see.  Good creamy finish with no shimmer.
"night prowl"
A different WetnWild.  Do NOT buy.  I had to put like 4 coats on to get to the opacity I wanted and while putting more coats on it kinda move the sparkles around as you're brushing so it's hard to get it even.  Finally when it's opaque enough it's the same colour as my other dark purpley reds.

The Ring, The Plans, The Dress, The Stress

No Idea why I would be stressed about my wedding which isn't happening for a year and a week...but I am.  I really shouldn't be because I have the church penciled in (they weren't booking yet lol) and the dinner venue is booked as well so the major things are out of the way...and I was all thinking I had the entire summer to leisurely look for dresses.  But no, apparently that makes me stressed.  I do have all summer until the end of August to pick a dress, but I am also working almost full time hours, evenings...and occasional weekends...so that doesn't leave me with a lot of free time. I feel like all I do is sleep in, go to work, come home, eat, putter around on the computer and then go to bed and repeat.  I work at 11ish daily, and dress shops around here don't open until 10am...so I would only have an hour to do anything.

That and my little sister who is the MATRON of honour (yeah, she's married before I am..) works full time at the hospital so if I have a Friday off because I'm working the weekend she doesn't...and if I'm working the weekend then it's not like I can go shopping lol.

I did go dress shopping last week, but, I am not a slender girl by any means. I have hips like "POW" like I say.  Or, according to the comic "Questionable Content" I am "aerodynamically curvacious."  Thus, clothing shopping is difficult.  Wedding dress shopping is equally or more difficult.  The larger sizes (as bridal runs small) aren't very vast in selection...and they seemed to be all the same sort of style, which was okay, and looked okay on me...but I didn't like per se.

So I am nervous that a) I won't find anything I like, b) that if I find what I am looking for that it wont be in a decent trying on size so I won't try it on and then c) that I will miss it and settle for a dress I dont love.

But whatever, pictures! Here is my ringaling
It's delicate and totally fits with the size that my fingers are.  I would totally love a ginormous rock, but it would probably be the size of my entire finger segment from knuckle to knuckle lol.  The side view has teeny hearts which I adore and the inside has the "past present future" inscription and 2 hidden diamonds which is neato.  I love it, and I love how much it sparkles.

Anywho, totally unrelated to anything makeup, but I am going to be making this blog more just for myself and my ranting and raving and whatever else rather than try to keep it strictly makeup related.

And now, since it's almost midnight (or night noon as I call it) I am off to bed!

I'm Baaaaack

After a long long long long time, I have decided to get into the blog thing again. I have been watching a lot of youtube and stuff and wanting to just blog and write about makeup I have bought, beauty stuff, whatever.

The reason I was gone was mostly school...I have now finished my diploma program for Massage Therapy and am going to be writing my licensing exams soon and then I will be registered.  In the past while since I posted last I have: gone back to dark hair, acquired a cat, gotten an eye infection or something which has gotten me really miffed about makeup since my eyes tear up and it removes all eye makeup waterproof or otherwise, gotten engaged, booked my wedding stuff, paid off debts..and I am sure I am missing major events as well but whatever, I am sure they will come up in my ramblings.

I also got a new computer which is much faster and has a built in webcam because its a lappy rather than a compy.  This is great because my old compy a) decided it didn't want to recognize it's DVD/CDROM drive anymore, b) had 512mb RAM and was super slow and c) decided I had installed new hardware when I hadn't.  So now I have this sexy beast
And its wonderful. I just have to get used to the keyboard as I keep pressing \ instead of enter.  lol.

To be all photowhorish I shall post a pic of what I look like now, since last time I posted I was a blondey.

So attractive with that expression, lol. Note my ring haha...ENGAGED!

So I think I'll do a haul/post about stuff I have bought recently and brief reviews next, but for now...I'm back!
